One of the biggest changes in MLB The Show 26 Franchise Mode this year is the removal of the classic “Trade Finder” — the familiar one‑click tool that used to instantly show you what other teams might give up for your players. In its place, San Diego Studio introduced a deeper trading simulation: delayed responses, a Trade Hub dashboard, a rumor feed with “Fog of War,” and the ability to mark players as “Untouchable.” These changes push Franchise Mode toward a more deliberate front office simulation, and that means longtime players need to rethink how they approach roster building.

Without the instant feedback and interest meter of old, there’s a steeper learning curve — but there are still solid ways to work around the absence of Trade Finder and effectively build your team in MLB The Show 26.

1. External Valuation Simulators

Since the game no longer gives you immediate feedback on trade value, many players lean on community‑built tools to estimate fair value before making offers in Franchise Mode.

Baseball Trade Values Simulator

Players can use third‑party engines like the Baseball Trade Values simulator to calculate contract worth, prospect value, and how different pieces stack up against each other. While not official, it can mirror the game’s underlying logic enough to give you a better shot at a reasonable offer.

ShowZone and Community Databases

ShowZone and similar sites maintain community‑vetted player value lists and sortable databases that help you judge what kind of package it takes to land an elite starter or a top prospect. Knowing this ahead of time means you aren’t flying blind when proposing deals in‑game.

2. Maximize the In‑Game Trade Hub

The new Trade Hub in Franchise Mode is now your main trading console — and if you use it right, you can recreate much of what you used to get from the old Trade Finder.

Parallel Trade Slots

You can have multiple trade proposals pending at once (up to four). Instead of focusing on one deal, cast a wider net: submit variants of a package to several teams at the same time. Let them process during the next few in‑game days, then check back to see which ones stick.

Study the Rumors Feed

The Trade Hub’s rumor mill is basically a fog‑of‑war trade market. It won’t give you exact offers, but it hints at which teams are shopping players or trying to fill specific needs. Reading between the lines helps you pitch offers that are more likely to be accepted as the trade deadline approaches.

Blockbuster 4‑for‑4 Trades

The new system lets you offer up to four players per side — a big leap from the old three‑player limit. That gives you room to build blockbuster packages for big‑name targets or to clear salary while restocking your farm system.

3. The “Save‑State Simulation” Workaround

If what you miss most is the instant feedback of the old system, you can simulate a sort of proxy for it:

Make a manual backup save before you submit any offer.

Submit one or more trade packages into the Trade Hub slots.

Simulate ahead 2–3 calendar days so the AI has time to accept or reject.

Reload the save if the offers are rejected, tweak your package, and try again.

This isn’t elegant, but it gives you a way to test different permutations without committing to them permanently, much like the old Trade Finder used to do.

4. Bypassing Trades via Custom Mechanics

If trading feels too slow or unpredictable, there are alternative paths to improving your roster:

Draft Scouting First

Shift your focus heavily toward amateur scouting and the draft. If you consistently turn top regional scouting into elite prospects, you can reshape your organization organically — often with less headache than trying to land that one big trade target from other teams.

Creative Workarounds (Mods/Settings)

If you’re playing offline and want full control, some players resort to custom mechanics: editing player attributes or toggling certain Franchise settings before creating your save. For example, lowering a target player’s key attributes temporarily can help the AI accept a trade and then raising those attributes back afterward. Some players also start with the “Force Trades” options enabled to avoid rejections entirely. (These are community tweaks rather than official features, but they’re out there for those who want them.)
