Fixing this requires a brief trip into your menus. Bring up your action wheel by pressing E on your keyboard if you are playing on a PC, or by pressing Up on the D-pad if you are using a console controller. Look down at the bottom of the wheel interface and select the Customize option. This will bring up your entire collection of unlocked expressions, phrases, and functions. Scroll through the available options until you track down the "Yes" emote. Click on it, drag it over to an empty slot on one of your active wheels, and be sure to save your changes before exiting.  

Unlocking the Secret Cache

With the proper configuration set, step right up to the base of the stone monument. Bring your action wheel back up and select the newly assigned "Yes" emote. As soon as your character performs the gesture, the ground will shake, and a hidden chest will materialize out of the dirt right beside you.
